A little bit about me

Evening at a Lalang Field, 30x40 inches acrylic on canvas
The Journey of Quirkyting
Hello! I'm Ting, a local independent artist from the little red dot. Friends say that I have a rather quirky personality, hence the pen name - Quirkyting.

The main mediums that I work with are acrylic paint and pastel. Sometimes, I fiddle with my iPad and create illustrations on Procreate too. I received my first commission in 2020 (Evening at a Lalang Field) and that was when I learned that art can uplift a person spiritually and emotionally. Whether it's a gift for someone or a statement piece to spruce up your home, my goal as an artist is to brighten your everyday life with art.
At the start of 2023, I completed a Diploma in Basic of Pastel Nagomi Art & Associated Instructive Art Course by Japan Pastel Hope Art Association (JPHAA). From 2023-2024, I took a leap of faith and signed a 1-year lease to fulfil my childhood dream of setting up my own art studio - Quirkyting Art Studio. During that 1 year, I taught pastel nagomi art and acrylic painting classes. Although the studio is now closed, I continue to create new artworks, and share my art on my Instagram account. Follow me on my art journey @quirkyting!
